Romania's national volleyball team has achieved its first victory in the 2026 European League by defeating Kosovo with an impressive score of 3-0. This match took place during the tournament in Riga, showcasing the team's skill with set scores of 25-19, 25-18, and 25-14.

This victory comes after Romania faced a tough loss against Latvia in their opening match, where they were unable to secure any sets, losing 0-3. The team now looks forward to their next tournament, scheduled to be held in Mioveni from June 12 to 14.

In Mioveni, Romania will first compete against Azerbaijan on June 12 and then take on Spain on June 14. Following this, Romania will travel to Tirana for the third tournament, where they will face Denmark on June 20 and Albania on June 21.

With 27 teams participating in the 2026 European League, Romania's objective is clear: to qualify for the semifinals. The top four teams at the end of the league will automatically qualify for the European Championship in 2028.

Looking ahead, Romania will also participate in the upcoming European Championship, taking place from September 9 to 26. They will be competing in Group D, hosted in Cluj-Napoca, where they will play against Latvia, France, Germany, Turkey, and Switzerland. This ambitious schedule reflects Romania's determination to make a mark in European volleyball.
