Romania sends 41 athletes to European Rowing Championships in Varese

Romania will be proudly represented by 41 athletes at the upcoming European Rowing Championships in Varese, Italy. The event will take place from July 31 to August 2, showcasing the nation's talent and determination in the sport.

This year, Romania will participate with 14 crews, including 12 Olympic and 2 non-Olympic teams. Notably, Alexandru Cristian will compete in the paracanoeing event, highlighting the diversity and inclusivity of Romania's rowing delegation.

The teams include a strong lineup of both male and female athletes. The men's single scull will feature Mihai Chiruță, while the men's double scull will see Marian Enache and Andrei Lungu working in tandem. In the men's four, Mihăiță Țigănescu, Andrei Cornea, Florin Horodișteanu, and Ioan Prundeanu will join forces, and the men's double scull will include Ștefan Berariu and Florin Lehaci.

The women's teams are equally impressive, with Bianca Ifteni competing in the women's single scull. The women's four will consist of Iulia Bălăucă, Emanuela Ciotău, Mariana Dumitru, and Andrada Moroșanu, while the women's double scull will feature Simona Radiș and Adriana Adam.

Romania's mixed crews include an 8+1 team made up of Magdalena Rusu, Maria Lehaci, Ancuța Bodnar, and others, as well as a mixed double scull featuring Marian Enache and Iulia Bălăucă. The team also includes a mixed 8+1 crew composed of both male and female athletes, emphasizing teamwork and collaboration.

Last year, Romania showcased its prowess by winning 7 medals at the European Championships held in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, including 3 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze medals. With such a strong track record and a dedicated team, Romania is poised for another successful competition in Varese.
