Nicolae Stanciu's Future: Rumors of a Return to Romania Amid Successful Season in China
Nicolae Stanciu, currently playing for Dalian Yingbo in China, has made a notable impact this season, scoring three goals and providing two assists in 12 matches. His impressive performance has helped Dalian Yingbo secure a solid position, currently sitting in 3rd place in the championship.
At 33 years old, Stanciu's contract with the Chinese club runs until January 2027. However, there are whispers that he is considering a return to Romania, with Universitatea Cluj emerging as a potential destination. Adrian Porumboiu, a prominent figure in Romanian football, has suggested that Cristiano Bergodi's team is particularly enticing for Stanciu.
Despite the speculation, Stanciu has been tight-lipped about returning to the Superliga, having refused to discuss the matter during the last national team event. His agent, Anamaria Prodan, advises him to remain in China, pointing out the challenges of leaving a lucrative contract behind. Stanciu earns around 1.5 million euros a year in China, while U Cluj would offer him a contract of up to 20,000 euros per month.
Prodan also acknowledged that discussions about player transfers are common during every transfer window and emphasized the difficulty of making such a transition at this stage in Stanciu's career. As the football world watches closely, it remains to be seen whether Nicolae Stanciu will choose to stay in China or make a return to his roots in Romania.
