Ede Molnar secures bronze at European MTB XCE Championship
Ede Molnar has proudly claimed the bronze medal at the European Championship of Mountain Bike Cross-Country Eliminator (XCE) held in Sakarya, Turkey. This achievement marks Molnar's fourth medal in a European Championship, solidifying his place among the top competitors in the sport.
In the heats, Molnar showcased his strength by finishing first in the quarter-finals and second in the semi-finals, ultimately securing a podium spot in the final. He faced tough competition from Jakob Klemenčič and Theo Hauser, who finished first and second, respectively.
Mate Szakacs also made a strong showing, finishing fourth overall after securing first place in both the quarter-finals and his semi-final heat. His performance was commendable, and he received praise for his efforts.
Simon Szilard served as the team manager during the event, while Cătălin Sprinceană, the president of the Romanian Cycling Federation, described the day as historic for Romanian cycling. He highlighted that it was the first time two Romanian athletes reached the finals of a European Mountain Bike Eliminator Championship.
Sprinceană congratulated Ede Molnar for his remarkable achievement and also extended his praise to Mate Szakacs for his impeccable race. He expressed gratitude to the National Agency for Sport and the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee for their support, emphasizing that such results would not be possible without the backing of their partners.
