CSM Bucureşti has achieved a significant milestone by winning the third place match in the Women's Handball Champions League. The team triumphed over the French side Brest with a score of 32-26, showcasing their determination and skill on the court.

One player who has been instrumental in this journey is Elizabeth Omoregie, a Slovenian handball player of Bulgarian descent. Having spent eight years in Romania, Omoregie is set to embark on a new chapter next season with Ferencvaros in Hungary. As she reflects on her time at CSM Bucureşti, Omoregie expressed her pride in the team and the significance of this final match.

"I am so, so proud of my team, and this is how I wanted to leave," Omoregie shared. She emphasized her desire not to leave empty-handed, stating, "I told the girls that I didn’t want to leave with empty hands. I didn’t want to go home as a loser."

This victory holds special meaning for Omoregie, who said, "This medal is so special to me because not only did I fulfill my dream of being in the Final Four, but I also didn’t leave with empty hands." Her commitment to the team is evident as she mentioned the importance of unity, saying, "I’m so proud that we stayed united after yesterday's match."

Despite not competing in the final, Omoregie remained optimistic, reflecting on the team’s performance: "Of course, I would have liked to play in the final, but that’s sports. When we play like this, we are unstoppable. Yesterday was simply a bad day for us, but today we showed who we are and displayed our game."

Omoregie also praised the team’s defense and the impressive performance of their goalkeepers, stating, "I am so proud of how we played in defense and how amazing our goalkeepers were. In attack, we always found solutions, and when we’re in this form, we are unstoppable. I am so, so proud."
