Romania is set to benefit from more than 14 million euros in European funds aimed at rebuilding affected areas after the floods of June 2025. This significant support comes from the European Union's Solidarity Fund, which has been mobilized to aid recovery efforts in Romania, Cyprus, and Spain.

The European Parliament approved the release of these funds during a plenary session in Strasbourg on Tuesday, with a strong majority backing the decision. This approval reflects a commitment to assist regions grappling with the aftermath of natural disasters.

The funds will be crucial for emergency operations and reconstruction efforts, focusing on restoring essential public services and infrastructure. They will also support the local population and economic activities impacted by the flooding.

In addition to immediate recovery, these funds will be utilized for measures designed to enhance community resilience against future natural disasters. This proactive approach underscores the importance of preparation and sustainability in the face of environmental challenges.
