Romania is on the path to becoming a leader in renewable energy with the development of the largest solar park in Europe. This ambitious project, located in Arad County, boasts a total capacity of 1,044 MW and includes a battery storage system to ensure energy can be stored and used later.

The project has recently received the green light from the National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE), marking a significant step forward. The authorization for the first phase was approved during a meeting on August 11, paving the way for this major investment in the region.

West Power Investments is at the helm of this project, which is among the largest photovoltaic investments currently under development in the area. With the first quantities of energy expected to be produced by 2027 and project completion estimated for 2028, this initiative promises to make a substantial impact on the energy landscape.

The financial closing of the project is anticipated in the coming months, signaling a commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions in Romania. As the country moves toward a greener future, this solar park stands as a beacon of progress.
