ProEduHub connects Romanian diaspora youth with educational opportunities back home
ProEduHub is a groundbreaking initiative designed to bridge the gap between Romanian youth living abroad and universities in Romania. Launched by InfoCons and the University of Life Sciences 'King Mihai I' from Timișoara, this project aims to facilitate access to education and support for young Romanians seeking to enroll in their home country's academic institutions.
From July 10 to 17, 2026, a joint delegation will conduct activities in the United Kingdom to bring these opportunities closer to the Romanian diaspora. This delegation will feature representatives from InfoCons and USVT, engaging with the large Romanian community in the UK, one of the most significant in Europe.
ProEduHub provides centralized information on educational offerings from Romanian universities, administrative support throughout the admission process, and opportunities for internships in collaboration with Romanian businesses. It also includes tools for educational and professional guidance, private scholarship opportunities, and access to technical education programs.
The project's goals are particularly relevant, given that estimates suggest between 5.7 and 6.5 million Romanians live in the diaspora, and between 30,000 and 50,000 Romanian students are currently studying abroad. With Romania's proportion of higher education graduates at around 23%, compared to 63% in Ireland and 62% in Cyprus, ProEduHub addresses the need for increased educational attainment among young Romanians.
Over the week, the delegation will engage in a series of events, including the 'United Through Education – Higher Education for Romanians Everywhere (EUSROP)' conference, a life sciences educational fair, and networking sessions. They will also meet with the Romanian community in Nottingham, visit University College London, and explore collaboration opportunities at Cambridge.
The overarching mission of ProEduHub is to develop an integrated online platform that fosters communication and collaboration between diaspora youth, higher education institutions in Romania, and the business sector. By providing these essential resources, ProEduHub contributes to creating a sustainable educational and professional ecosystem and reaffirms InfoCons' commitment to supporting access to education and social inclusion.
Through ProEduHub, the initiative 'Come Home!' transforms into a concrete effort, aiming to empower young Romanians abroad to connect with their roots and educational opportunities in Romania.
