L'Étape România 2023: Registration Now Open for Cycling Enthusiasts

L'Étape România by Tour de France is set to return on August 30, marking its fifth edition and inviting cyclists of all ages to take part. General registrations are now open until August 26, allowing cycling enthusiasts to sign up at romania.letapeseries.com/registration.

This year’s event offers a variety of routes catering to different skill levels: City Adventure at 14 km for ages 7 and up, The Ride at 42 km for cyclists over 15, and The Race at 85 km, the competition's iconic challenge. Participants can look forward to scenic routes through Bucharest, including famous landmarks like the Arch of Triumph, the Palace of the Parliament, and the Romanian Athenaeum.

L'Étape România is inclusive, providing free participation for individuals with disabilities and a 15% discount for children and teenagers under 18. Cyclists can join the fun starting from the age of 7.

The Race Village, located in Piaţa Constituţiei, will serve as the event's hub, featuring a Tour de France exhibition, food court, relaxation areas, and services like mechanical assistance and massage. A stage will host the awards ceremony for the winners, celebrating their achievements in front of enthusiastic crowds.

Organized by the Romanian Cycling Federation, ACS MPG, and MTB Academy, L'Étape România is supported by key partners including Decathlon, which has been the presenting partner for the third consecutive year. Decathlon provides part of the official participant kit and quick repair services for cyclists.

In addition to the local excitement, top amateur cyclists competing in The Race will have the chance to qualify for the L'Étape Championship and receive invitations to L'Étape du Tour in France. With over two billion viewers tuning into the Tour de France each year, L'Étape România is a significant addition to this global cycling series, as Romania became the 20th country to join the L'Étape calendar in 2022.

The event will not only celebrate cycling but also foster community spirit, as demonstrated by the engagement of over 500 children enrolled in MTB Academy's cycling school, which has organized more than 100 large-scale events. L'Étape România promises to transform Bucharest into a vibrant cycling hub for a day, welcoming everyone to participate in this exciting experience.
