CSL Ștefănești celebrates historic promotion to Liga 2

CSL Ștefănești has achieved a remarkable milestone by securing promotion to Liga 2 for the first time in the club's history. After a challenging season filled with intense matches and sacrifices, the team triumphed with a decisive 4-0 victory over Agricola Borcea, finishing at the top of Group 2 in Liga 3 with 29 points, tied with Popești Leordeni.

The road to promotion was not without its hurdles, as CSL Ștefănești faced a two-point deduction from the Romanian Football Federation (FRF). However, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (TAS) confirmed that the club's promotion remains intact, allowing them to step into Liga 2 for the 2026/2027 season.

In a parallel development, CSM Unirea Alba Iulia sought a rerun of the promotion playoffs but had their request denied by TAS, which also ruled that they would bear the costs of the arbitration process. All other requests for reparative measures were rejected, solidifying CSL Ștefănești's standing.

Founded in 2019, CSL Ștefănești has quickly made a name for itself, and the club celebrated this historic achievement on Instagram, expressing gratitude to its supporters: 'Ați scris ISTORIE! Ați făcut mândru un întreg oraș! Ați demonstrat că împreună nimic nu este imposibil! ȘTEFĂNEȘTI ESTE ÎN LIGA 2!'
