Women in Music România launches sixth edition of mentorship program

15 Jun 2026, 15:11

Women in Music România is proud to announce the launch of the sixth edition of its mentorship program, designed to empower women pursuing careers in the music industry. This year’s program introduces an innovative concept where ten selected participants will form a real management and booking agency dedicated to the emerging artist Luana Genevieve.

The program covers essential areas such as management, marketing, communication, and cultural entrepreneurship. Participants will work directly on developing Luana's career, guided by experienced mentors from the industry. Ionela Barbu, PR Manager at Women in Music România and a former participant herself, expressed the goal of the program: 'We aim to contribute to building a fairer music industry, where women's voices are visible, valued, and involved in all stages of the creative and decision-making process.'

Luana Genevieve, an independent artist, has shared her excitement about building a strong team. She said, 'I want to build a team,' emphasizing the importance of collaboration for her artistic development. With long-term goals of an international career, Luana dreams of performing in cities like Paris, Berlin, and various locations in Spain and the Netherlands. For now, she sees a national tour as an excellent starting point.

Having written music since childhood and studied both singing and dance, Luana is enthusiastic about the opportunities the mentorship program will provide. She believes that establishing a network is one of the hardest parts of the journey, stating, 'At first, it's difficult to reach the right people and gain credibility.'

The mentorship program offers participants access to workshops focused on music management, PR, marketing, booking, and social media, as well as individual mentoring sessions. Ionela highlighted the unique opportunity to work alongside leading women in the music industry and learn directly from them.

Encouraging future artists, Luana advised them not to shy away from promoting their work, while Ionela urged participants to attend events and network confidently. Luana concluded with a motivating reminder: 'It's normal to have moments of self-doubt. The important thing is to keep going.'

Those interested in the program can find more information on the Women in Music România platforms and their official social media channels.
