Universitatea Craiova at the top: €38.8 million valuation and remarkable achievements
Universitatea Craiova has made significant strides in the world of Romanian football, achieving a remarkable valuation of €38.8 million. This marks a 12.5% increase from their previous valuation of €34.5 million, making them the highest valued team in Romania, ahead of Rapid at €29.5 million and FCSB at €24.48 million.
In the 2025/2026 season, Universitatea Craiova showcased their prowess by winning both the Cupa României and the title in SuperLiga. Their success in these competitions allowed them to progress to the main stage of the Conference League and represent Romania in the Champions League preliminaries for the 2026 season.
Key players have contributed to this success, especially Ștefan Baiaram, who stands out as the most valuable player on the team with a market value of €5 million. In the 2025/2026 season, Baiaram played 50 matches, scoring 12 goals and providing six assists. As the team gears up for new challenges, he has announced his intention to leave Universitatea Craiova at the end of the last season.
The summer transfer window of 2026 saw Universitatea Craiova bring in new talents such as Răzvan Sava, Alexandru Maxim, Ronaldo Webster, Heri Tavares, and Simon Elisor. Following this successful season, Baiaram also celebrated personal milestones, having married Cristina Răduț in June 2026, after proposing to her in America earlier that year.
With a bright future ahead in both domestic and international competitions, Universitatea Craiova continues to be a beacon of success in Romanian football.
