Romania celebrates victory in European Under-18 Volleyball Championship opener
Romania has kicked off its campaign at the Under-18 European Volleyball Championship with a promising victory over the Netherlands, winning 3-1 in sets. This strong start sets a positive tone for the team as they compete in Italy.
The match took place on Tuesday in Cisterna di Latina and lasted two hours, showcasing intense competition on the court. Romania secured the victory with set scores of 25-23, 21-25, 25-15, and 25-22, demonstrating resilience and skill against their opponents.
Matei George Josan stood out as the star player for Romania, scoring 16 points. His teammates also made significant contributions, with Mario Eduard Panait adding 11 points and Alexandru Gabriel Apostu contributing 10 points to the team's success.
On the other side of the net, Jayson Hansen led the Dutch team with 18 points, while Joa Valkema and Thijmen Johannes Petrus De Heij added 16 and 10 points, respectively. This match was one of several in the group, which also featured games like France vs. Bulgaria and Germany vs. Belgium.
