Timişoara sees over 10% increase in tourist numbers for the second consecutive year

Timişoara is making waves as the only major urban destination in Romania to experience a significant rise in tourist numbers, with an impressive growth of over 10% this year. This uptick marks the second consecutive year of growth, showcasing the city's appeal.

The surge in visitors has been confirmed through multiple independent studies, solidifying Timişoara's reputation as a vibrant cultural hub. The city's success was notably amplified during its time as a European Capital of Culture, which helped increase its international visibility.

People are drawn to Timişoara for its lively atmosphere, rich gastronomy, bustling cafés, heritage, safety, and the vibrant energy that fills the streets. Dominic Fritz, the mayor of Timişoara, expressed gratitude towards the local hospitality sector, including hotels, restaurants, event organizers, guides, artists, entrepreneurs, and the team at Visit Timişoara.

Visit Timişoara, an association dedicated to promoting the city, was established by Fritz four years ago, and it has played a crucial role in enhancing the city's profile. To celebrate this growth, Fritz has invited tourists to experience Timişoara during the upcoming Days of Timişoara from July 31 to August 3.

This festive period will feature hundreds of events, including concerts, sports activities, and family-friendly entertainment, making it an ideal time for visitors to immerse themselves in the city's vibrant culture.
