Spider-Man: O Nouă Zi sets new records in Romania's cinema landscape
Spider-Man: O Nouă Zi has made history by becoming the most-watched superhero film ever in 4DX format. This blockbuster has captivated audiences, with over 130,000 people choosing to watch it in Cinema City theaters last weekend alone.
The film's success is reflected in the popularity of premium formats, such as IMAX and 4DX, which accounted for an impressive 50% of all ticket sales. In comparison, the average annual sales for premium formats usually stand at 26%, showcasing a significant boost in demand.
Moreover, Spider-Man: O Nouă Zi has achieved the remarkable milestone of being the most successful release in the entire Marvel universe within Romania. The Cinema City megaplex in AFI Cotroceni, Bucharest, recorded the highest audience figures, further solidifying the film's popularity.
Cinema City, part of Regal Global Entertainment, operates across 21 cities in Romania, boasting 29 multiplexes and 264 screens, providing over 47,000 seats for moviegoers. This extensive network has generated over 160 million dollars in global ticket sales and related services, making it a key player in the Romanian cinema market.
In addition to the cinematic triumphs, exciting educational developments are on the horizon. The first admission session for a Podiatry program is set to take place in September 2026. This four-year program will be conducted regularly in Romanian, opening new pathways for students in the healthcare field.
