Slight decrease in fuel prices brings hope for motorists
For the first time in two months, fuel prices have started to decline, bringing a sense of relief to drivers across the country. The reduction is modest, with prices dropping by 5 bani.
Despite this decrease, the price for a liter of gasoline still exceeds the 10 lei mark in most gas stations. At Petrom, a liter costs 10 lei and 6 bani, while at OMV, it is priced at 10 lei and 12 bani. Lukoil offers the highest price at 10 lei and 15 bani per liter.
In contrast, diesel prices remain steady at nearly 11 lei per liter, having not changed for seven consecutive days nationwide. This consistency may provide some predictability for those relying on diesel for their vehicles.
As of October 18, 2026, the fluctuating fuel market continues to affect consumers, but this slight decrease in gasoline prices could signal a more favorable trend ahead.
