Romania's youth team secures victory against South Korea
In a spirited match, the youth national team of Romania triumphed over South Korea with a score of 26-22. The team showcased a strong performance, leading 16-10 at halftime.
This victory came as the second match in the main group II, where Romania concluded the group stage in third place. Despite this win, the team will not advance to the quarter-finals, having lost their first match against Spain.
Earlier in the tournament, Romania also achieved impressive victories against Canada with a score of 40-15 and Brazil, winning 30-28. However, they faced challenges, suffering defeats against Germany and Spain.
Looking ahead, Romania will compete for final rankings between 9th and 12th place on July 2-3. This follows a competitive group stage, where Germany and Spain advanced to the quarter-finals, which will take place on July 2.
Romania boasts a rich history in handball, with two world titles achieved in 1995 and 1999. At the 2024 World Championship edition, the Romanian team finished in 11th place, highlighting their ongoing journey in the sport.
