The recent European Angus Forum in Romania achieved remarkable success, exemplified by a spectacular auction where several bulls sold for over €10,000. This event not only broke national price records but also showcased the high genetic value that Romania can produce, as emphasized by Marcel Olteanu, president of the Aberdeen Angus Association in Romania.

Held in the picturesque Mureș County, the forum included a tour of representative farms and culminated in a conference at the Palace of Parliament. This gathering brought together representatives from Angus associations and breeders worldwide, highlighting Romania's growing influence in the global Angus community.

Despite some rainy days, Olteanu noted that the atmosphere was exceptional, with guests expressing their delight in the events. The auction, described as absolutely spectacular, reflected the increasing demand for high-quality Angus cattle.

Samuel Widmer, co-owner of Karpaten Meat, was also in attendance, sharing his excitement about visiting Transylvania for the first time. He recognized the potential of the region's pastures for raising cattle and mentioned that Karpaten Meat exports genetic material, further reinforcing Romania's reputation.

Dragoș Manea, the technical director of the Aberdeen Angus Association in Romania, spoke to the strength of the association, noting its position among the top five in the world. He highlighted the importance of advancing the processing and value chain of beef in Romania, a sentiment echoed by Péter Tamás Nagy.

As the forum concluded, plans for the next European Angus Forum in Denmark in 2028 were announced, along with the World Angus Technical Meeting in Brazil in 2029. The strong collaboration and innovation during this year's forum set a positive tone for the future of Angus breeding in Romania.
