Romania to Produce Military Drones with Advanced AI Technology

Oves Enterprise, a Romanian technology company founded in 2015, is set to make significant strides in military drone production. In partnership with Edrone, one of Ukraine's largest drone manufacturers, they are embarking on a project to produce military drones in Romania, integrating advanced technology and local expertise.

The collaboration will establish a production unit in Cluj-Napoca, where the first three types of military drones—FPV drones, interceptors, and reconnaissance drones—are scheduled to be manufactured. The initial units are expected to roll off the production line this autumn, ready for testing and public demonstration.

This initiative not only aims to enhance Romania's defense capabilities but also to foster a robust industrial base within the European Union. The production facility is designed to manage the entire manufacturing process, ensuring that the drones leave fully equipped and operational.

The project incorporates Nemesis AI technology, which will enhance the drones' capabilities in target identification, classification, tracking, and engagement. The goal is to reduce reaction times and increase precision, adapting the systems to meet modern military operational requirements.

Oves Enterprise and Edrone aim to achieve a production capacity of around 1,000 units per month initially, with plans to expand to 10,000 – 15,000 units monthly in the medium term. The initial team will consist of approximately 30 local employees, who will receive training on the new processes and models.

By manufacturing and testing these drones locally, Romania will contribute to building a strong European defense industrial base, while Oves Enterprise continues to generate more than half of its revenue from international projects. The expansion of the product portfolio at Cluj-Napoca could eventually include up to 27 different drone models, depending on market demand and defense program developments.
