Romania shines at Under19 World Championships with gold medals in rowing

Romania has achieved a remarkable feat by winning the gold medal in the women's 8+1 crew (JW8+) at the Under19 World Championships held in Plovdiv. This victory highlights the strength and dedication of the young athletes who represented the country on an international stage.

The winning team of the women's 8+1 crew includes Teodora Sandu, Carolina Pănuţă, Elena Bianca Niţu, Maya Renata Bumbac, Elena Denisa Baciu, Mariana Casu, Angela Gabriela Cazacu, Mădălina-Dumitriţa Ursaciuc, and Sarra-Maria Vasca. Their hard work and teamwork culminated in this prestigious achievement.

In addition to the gold in the women's category, Romania also secured the gold medal in the men's double sculls (JM2-), thanks to the outstanding performance of Radu-Andrei Enescu and Dumitru Cristian Pascari. Their success adds to the pride of the Romanian rowing community.

The Romanian teams showcased their talent further by winning a total of two gold and two bronze medals at the championships on August 8. The women's double sculls (JW2x), featuring Gabriela Costinela Ursu and Andreea Măriuca Dumitraşcu, earned a bronze medal, demonstrating the depth of talent in Romania's rowing squads.

Moreover, the women's four sculls crew (JW4-) comprising Ana-Maria Bordanc, Alexandra Daria Crăciun, Anca-Andreea Culidiuc, and Denisa Mihaela Vasilica also clinched a gold medal. Their victory, alongside the bronze medal won by the women's quadruple sculls (JW4x) team, which includes Ioana Gabriela Cristescu, Francesca Iulia Stejar, Sonia Teodora Biță, and Daria-Elena Maximiuc, underscores the remarkable achievement of Romanian athletes at this international event.

While the men's 8+1 crew (JM8+) finished in fifth place, their participation contributed to the overall success of the Romanian delegation. These results reflect the hard work and commitment of all athletes involved and highlight a promising future for Romanian rowing.
