Romania shines at the Central European Olympiad in Informatics with three gold medals
Romania has proudly secured three gold medals and one silver at the Central European Olympiad in Informatics, showcasing the exceptional talent of its young students.
The competition took place in Ljubljana from July 5 to July 20, bringing together gifted youths from Central Europe and invited countries. Among the standout performers were Victor Ioan Dobra from the National College 'Lucian Blaga' Sebeş, Rareş-Andrei Neculau from the National College 'Vasile Alecsandri' Galaţi, and Mihai-Valeriu Voicu from the International Theoretical High School of Informatics Bucharest, all of whom achieved gold medals.
Additionally, Andrei-Paul Iorgulescu from the National College of Informatics 'Tudor Vianu' Bucharest earned a silver medal, contributing to Romania's impressive overall performance. The team was expertly coordinated by ş.l. dr. ing. Mihai Nan from the Faculty of Automation and Computers at the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest.
The Ministry of Education and Research facilitated the coordination of the Olympiad through the Directorate for Olympiads, Competitions, Partnerships, and Extracurricular Education, with support from Georgeta Antonia Rodica Crăciunescu, a counselor at MEC.
This achievement not only highlights the skills of these young informatics students but also underscores Romania's commitment to fostering excellence in education and competition.
