Romania shines at BBC Proms with historic performance by pianist Alexandra Dariescu

For the first time in three decades, a Romanian artist will grace the stage at the prestigious BBC Proms, with pianist Alexandra Dariescu making her debut on August 5. This moment marks a significant achievement not only for Dariescu but for Romanian culture as a whole, as she becomes the first Romanian pianist invited to perform at this renowned classical music festival.

Running from July 17 to September 12, BBC Proms is the oldest classical music festival in the world, and Romania is being showcased prominently during this period. The country's tourism destination is being promoted by the Ministry of Economy, Digitalization, Entrepreneurship, and Tourism (MEDAT), with a dedicated page featuring the image of the stunning Peleș Castle.

To support this campaign, 85,000 official brochures have been created for 63 of the concerts, including 1,200 copies specifically for Dariescu's performance. These brochures will also highlight Romanian cultural diplomacy in the United Kingdom, emphasizing the message 'Discover Romania - one of Europe's most diverse & best preserved natural landscapes.'

The promotion of Romania at such a prestigious event reflects a broader commitment to enhancing the country's cultural presence on the international stage.
