România secures spot in final European League tournament
România's women's volleyball team is set to compete in the final tournament of the European League, a significant achievement as they aim to make their mark on the international stage.
The tournament will take place in Šiauliai, Lithuania, where Romania will face Portugal on June 20, 2026, at 18:00, followed by a match against the host nation, Lithuania, on June 21, 2026, at 16:00.
The inaugural game of the tournament will kick off on June 19, 2026, at 19:00, featuring a matchup between Portugal and Lithuania. With Suedia, Slovenia, and Slovacia leading the standings with 12 points each, Romania currently holds the 10th position with 8 points, striving to break into the top six teams who will qualify for the finals.
The final tournament is scheduled to take place from June 27 to July 12, 2026, following the European Championship set for August 21 to September 6, 2026. Romania will be competing in Group C during the preliminary rounds in Baku, alongside Azerbaijan, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Spain.
