Brașov's New Multi-Purpose Hall Nears Completion with Significant Investment

The new multi-purpose hall in Brașov, set to be the largest in Romania, is now 70% complete, with the government approving a substantial investment update. The total value of the project has reached 646.561 million lei, up from the initial 404.557 million lei.

Cseke Attila, the interim Minister of Development, expressed confidence in the progress of the construction, stating that the work is proceeding well and the contractor is serious. The hall is scheduled for completion and inauguration in June 2027, promising to be a hub for various sports including basketball, volleyball, handball, and gymnastics.

In addition to government support, the Brașov City Hall is contributing to the co-financing of this investment, highlighting the collaborative effort behind this ambitious project. The new hall will have a seating capacity of 11,211, designed to host a wide range of competitions and events.

As a point of interest, the multi-purpose hall in Tulcea, inaugurated on July 31, 2026, has also made headlines for its own achievements despite some damage noted during its opening games. Meanwhile, the Constanța multi-purpose hall, with an investment exceeding 185 million lei, is also on track to be completed in June 2027, featuring modern amenities and a capacity of 5,000.
