Romania marks a significant milestone as it celebrates 70 years since joining UNESCO in 1953. This anniversary highlights the country's long-standing commitment to promoting education, science, culture, and heritage on an international stage.

Over the past seven decades, Romania has gained international recognition by having various sites and elements of its cultural heritage inscribed in UNESCO's prestigious list. These achievements reflect the dedication of specialists, institutions, artisans, and local communities who have worked tirelessly to showcase Romania's rich cultural tapestry.

On this occasion, the joint permanent committee of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate emphasized the importance of each UNESCO inscription, acknowledging the collaborative efforts that have made these recognitions possible. They also reaffirmed a commitment to protect and promote national values moving forward.

In a heartfelt message, the parliamentary committee extended warm wishes, stating 'La mulți ani, România în UNESCO!' and 'La mulți ani tuturor celor care au contribuit și contribuie la această frumoasă poveste.' This celebration not only honors past achievements but also sets the tone for future endeavors in preserving and showcasing Romania's unique cultural heritage.
