Romania celebrates 70 years of UNESCO membership

Romania marks a significant milestone as it celebrates 70 years since joining UNESCO in 1953. This anniversary highlights the country's long-standing commitment to promoting education, science, culture, and heritage on an international stage.

Over the past seven decades, Romania has gained international recognition by having various sites and elements of its cultural heritage inscribed in UNESCO's prestigious list. On this occasion, the joint permanent committee of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate emphasized the importance of each UNESCO inscription, acknowledging the collaborative efforts that have made these recognitions possible. In a heartfelt message, the parliamentary committee extended warm wishes, stating 'La mulți ani, România în UNESCO!' and 'La mulți ani tuturor celor care au contribuit și contribuie la această frumoasă poveste.'
