RADOR celebrates 36 years of dedicated media service

16 Jun 2026, 15:50

Agenția de presă RADOR Radio România is proudly marking 36 years of operation, a testament to its enduring commitment to quality journalism. Established in 1990, just three months after the historic Revolution of December 1989, RADOR has grown to become a cornerstone of information and documentation for Radio România's broadcasting network.

Originally founded under the leadership of Eugen Preda, RADOR continues to play a significant role in diversifying and strengthening the informational flow of public radio broadcasting. The agency monitors over 50 radio and television stations and utilizes hundreds of information sources from both Romania and abroad, operating in 15 languages to cater to a broad audience.

The name RADOR pays homage to the first modern press agency in Romania, Rador Radio Orient, which was founded in 1921 and operated until its dissolution in 1949. Today, RADOR is not just a source of news but also actively combats misinformation through its Romania Check project, which is dedicated to verifying facts and tackling the issue of fake news.

As RADOR celebrates this milestone, its representatives extend heartfelt gratitude to partners, users, and the public for their support. The agency reaffirms its commitment to providing professional and relevant information, solidifying its position as one of the most important media monitoring and analysis structures within the Societatea Română de Radiodifuziune.
