ProEduHub connects young Romanians in the diaspora with educational opportunities at home
ProEduHub is the first initiative launched by InfoCons aimed at supporting young Romanians living abroad. This project is designed to facilitate access to educational opportunities in Romania for those born or raised in the diaspora.
The recent mission to the United Kingdom took place from July 10 to July 15, 2026, and included six major activities aimed at engaging the Romanian community. The delegation, led by InfoCons President Sorin Mierlea and USVT Rector Cosmin Alin Popescu, visited several prominent institutions, including the University of Birmingham and University College London.
During the visit, the delegation also met with officials at the Romanian General Consulate in Birmingham and visited the Romanian Orthodox Parish. A central event was hosted at the Romanian Cultural Institute in London on July 13, which attracted significant attention.
ProEduHub has already generated considerable interest, with 58 dedicated social media posts reaching approximately 25,000 people and garnering over 52,000 views. The initiative has also recorded over 200 email inquiries and more than 70 phone calls regarding the project. Its bilingual communication strategy has successfully engaged both Romanian and English-speaking audiences.
The project aims to bolster the relationship between Romania and its communities abroad, offering support in admission processes, educational and career guidance, internship opportunities, and scholarships. With around 5.7 to 6.5 million Romanians estimated to live in the diaspora, ProEduHub is open to partnerships with all accredited universities in Romania, including its academic partner, the University of Life Sciences 'King Michael I' in Timișoara.
Through its comprehensive communication campaign, ProEduHub has reached new users on the InfoCons website, which recorded over 95,000 active users during the mission. Notably, over 94% of these were new visitors, showcasing the project's ability to attract interest from various demographics.
As ProEduHub continues to promote educational access and human capital development, it stands as a testament to Romania's commitment to its diaspora and the potential for meaningful connections between young Romanians abroad and their homeland.
