ProEduHub connects young Romanians abroad with educational opportunities in Romania
The launch of the 'ProEduHub' project aims to bridge the gap for young Romanians living abroad who wish to study in Romania. This initiative, driven by Asociația InfoCons, is designed specifically for young individuals aged 15 to 25 from the diaspora, particularly those in Italy and Belgium.
Financed by the Department for Romanians Everywhere (DRP), the project has a total approved budget of 151,675 lei and will run from August 1 to October 30, 2026. Notably, the funding is non-repayable, allowing Asociația InfoCons to focus on delivering valuable resources without financial constraints.
ProEduHub addresses a genuine need for information regarding higher education in Romania. The project features an online platform hosted on the Asociația InfoCons website, which consolidates educational offerings from four partner universities: USVT, University of Bucharest, Polytechnic University of Bucharest, and the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest.
In addition to the online platform, the initiative includes a dedicated helpline at 021 9615 / *9615, designed to accommodate the time zones of the diaspora, ensuring that support is accessible. The project also plans to counsel at least 100 young people directly, guiding them towards the programs offered by the partner universities.
To further enhance outreach, ProEduHub will engage in targeted digital campaigns in Italy and Belgium, aiming for over 500,000 digital impressions within the Romanian communities there. Partnerships with Romanian community publications will aid in disseminating information, while informative materials such as guides, brochures, videos, and infographics will ensure comprehensive support.
Sorin Mierlea, President of Asociația InfoCons, emphasizes the project's mission, stating, 'Through ProEduHub, we are building a bridge of trust between young Romanians in the diaspora and universities in Romania.' He adds, 'We want every young person dreaming of an academic career to find, in one place, the correct information and support they need to choose Romania.'
Asociația InfoCons, founded in 2003, not only champions consumer protection but also continuously runs national and international educational campaigns. This commitment to community support and information accessibility is further showcased through their app, available on iOS, Android, and Huawei AppGallery.
