NIBIRU opens its doors, launching Romania's largest entertainment destination
Today, July 16, marks the grand opening of NIBIRU, a significant new addition to Romania's entertainment landscape. This remarkable venue is not only the newest resort in the country but also the largest entertainment destination in Europe, promising an array of experiences for visitors.
NIBIRU kicks off its inaugural season with 46 days packed with festivals and events. The opening day is expected to attract around 50,000 visitors, setting the stage for an exciting summer ahead. With a diverse line-up of over 200 artists, including both international stars and local talents, the first festival, GALAXIA, will take place from July 16 to 19, featuring performances by renowned names like Ozuna, INNA, and DJ Snake.
The resort boasts more than 30 shops and restaurants, with an impressive 74 of the 82 vendors being Romanian brands. This emphasis on local business is part of a broader plan to generate over 400 million euros for the local economy and to support seasonal jobs and local suppliers.
NIBIRU is led by CEO and co-founder Andrei Şelaru (Selly), who has emphasized the importance of creating a vibrant cultural hub. The venue will house a variety of permanent entertainment zones such as The Fool Comedy Club, NIBIRU Beer Garden, and the Museum of Planets.
The daily program runs from 6 PM to 3 AM, with the main promenade free to access upon a minimum spend of 25 lei. Each day of the week features a unique artistic concept, from the Circus of Wonders on Thursdays to the vibrant rhythms of Barrio Carnaval on Saturdays.
Transportation to NIBIRU is both accessible and affordable, with tickets priced at 20 lei, while children under six can travel for free. The NIBIRU mobile app has already made waves, becoming the most downloaded app in Romania on its release day, with around 9,000 downloads.
As NIBIRU transforms the south of the coast into a relevant destination for both Romanian and international tourists, it promises to be a cornerstone of entertainment, culture, and community engagement for years to come.
