New renewable energy plant set to create jobs in Petrila
A significant investment in renewable energy is underway in Petrila, Hunedoara County, with UniCredit Bank supporting the construction of a new assembly plant for renewable energy components. The financing provided by UniCredit Bank exceeds 46 million lei (approximately 9 million euros), marking a pivotal step in the region's industrial development.
The project, developed by Wind Power Energy through its RenewAcad brand, aims to bolster production capacity dedicated to the renewable energy sector. This modern production facility will not only integrate energy efficiency solutions but also utilize renewable energy sources in its operations.
In addition to enhancing production capabilities, the investment is set to create new job opportunities in the Valea Jiului area. As part of its commitment to a just energy transition, the project includes professional training programs designed to support the employment integration of individuals from communities affected by energy transition.
RenewAcad is also preparing to operationalize a 20 MWh energy storage facility by the end of the year, with testing commencing shortly. This facility is part of the broader Petrila 1 and Petrila 2 projects, which integrate liquid-cooled Prime batteries installed in specially designed halls, utilizing patented technical concepts developed by Monsson.
Last year, Wind Power Energy secured over 3 million euros in funding from UniCredit Bank for two energy storage projects. The current investment is expected to be finalized and connected to the grid by March 2026, and RenewAcad plans to launch a new strategic investment worth over 10 million euros in the spring of 2026, anticipated to create over 40 additional jobs starting in 2027.
Through this initiative, RenewAcad reaffirms its commitment to a functional, equitable, and future-oriented energy transition, contributing to both local economic growth and sustainable energy practices.
