Mihai Bobonete, a beloved figure in Romanian comedy, has officially become a shareholder of Universitatea Craiova, a dream he has nurtured since childhood. At 46 years old, Bobonete expressed his excitement, stating, 'Asta e surpriza: în sfârșit, după atâta vreme, devin acționar la Universitatea Craiova.' He regards this new role as 'o onoare și o mândrie.'

The discussions that led to this significant step had been ongoing with the major shareholder Mihai Rotaru for quite some time. Bobonete revealed, 'O să râzi, el m-a convins de acum un an și jumătate,' highlighting the long-term connection and trust that has developed between them. He has always wanted to support Universitatea Craiova, a sentiment he has held since the club's inception.

Bobonete aims to bring his capital of image to benefit the team. 'Speranța mea e că fanii mei și oamenii care mă iubesc și iubesc ceea ce fac eu să se întoarcă cu fața și spre această echipă,' he said, emphasizing his desire to rally support for the club. He also added a touch of humor, claiming, 'Dacă vrei și puțină aroganță oltenească, așa cum eu mă consider numărul 1 în comedie, și echipa asta e numărul 1 în fotbal.'

Universitatea Craiova has recently achieved significant milestones, including winning their first championship title in 35 years and the Cupa României. The team, led by Filipe Coelho, is now aiming for qualification in the main phase of the Europa League. Bobonete made his statements just before their match against KuPS in the third qualifying round, showcasing his commitment to the club during this exciting time.
