Mediaș, Brașov, and Suceava Compete for 'Youth Capital of Romania 2028' Title

Mediaș has emerged as a finalist for the prestigious title of 'Capitala Tineretului din România 2028', showcasing the city's commitment to its youth. The local administration, youth organizations, and community partners have rallied behind Mediaș, ensuring a strong candidacy.

The project team from Sibiu will present their proposal on October 23 in Alba Iulia. Mediaș's candidacy is particularly noteworthy, as the projects proposed have been developed with direct involvement from young people through the Association Rise Hub.

Mayor Gheorghe Roman emphasized that this significant step is a collective achievement for the entire community. Over 50 representatives from local non-governmental organizations gathered to discuss the future of the youth in Mediaș, further demonstrating the community's commitment.

The selection of Mediaș as a finalist not only enhances the city's visibility on a national scale but also marks a milestone in the competition's history, with initial participation from ten cities—the largest ever in a decade.

The winning city will gain the right to use the title 'Capitala Tineretului din România 2028' and will receive a €50,000 prize from BCR. Additionally, the winner will host the Youth Summit 2028 and will benefit from mentorship and professional support through the program's governance.
