Kazakhstan Restarts Oil Exports, Ensuring Steady Supply Through CPC

Kazakhstan has successfully resumed its oil exports through the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), a crucial lifeline for the nation’s oil production. This announcement was made by the Ministry of Energy on July 27, marking a significant step towards restoring normalcy after a temporary suspension of loading operations at the CPC maritime terminal.

Loading operations are currently underway at two unique berthing points of the CPC, with tankers SEAMAJESTY and MILOS both taking on crude oil supplied by Tengizchevroil, the operator of Kazakhstan's largest oil field. This resumption allows producing companies to restore deliveries through the CPC pipeline system, which handles the majority of Kazakhstan's oil exports.

The Ministry has assured that operations at the terminal will continue based on ongoing assessments of the security situation, adhering to all necessary safety requirements. In light of recent drone attacks on civilian vessels in the Black Sea, Kazakhstan has condemned these incidents as threats to international energy security.

Prior to this announcement, the CPC temporarily suspended loading operations, leading Kazakhstan to reduce oil production as a precautionary measure to avoid filling storage facilities. The Ministry of Energy remains in constant contact with CPC leadership, key oil transporters, and other stakeholders to ensure the uninterrupted transport of Kazakh oil.
