Gloria Bistrița starts the season with two wins and a new signing

11 Aug 2026, 09:55

Gloria Bistrița has made a remarkable start to Liga 2, celebrating two consecutive victories in their opening matches. Under the guidance of coach Nicolae Grigore, the team triumphed over Șelimbăr with a score of 2-1 and secured an impressive 3-0 win against Unirea Slobozia.

This perfect start places Gloria Bistrița among just four teams in Liga 2 that have won both opening matches, alongside CSM Slatina, Concordia Chiajna, and CSM Reșița. However, despite their strong performances, it’s important to note that Gloria Bistrița, like 11 other teams, does not have promotion rights to the SuperLigă this season.

In an exciting development for the team, Anes Rusevic is returning to Romania to join Gloria Bistrița. The talented player, who recently parted ways with Novi Pazar, made headlines by scoring a 'double' in the final of the Romanian Cup 2023/2024 while playing for Oțelul. That match ended 2-2 after extra time, and Oțelul ultimately lost in the penalty shootout, but Rusevic’s performance established him as a standout player.

Rusevic, who stands at 1.83 meters tall and was born on December 2, 1996, has had a diverse career, playing for clubs across several countries, including Iberia 1999, Zrinjski, Rabotnicki, BATE Borisov, and FK Proleter Novi Sad. He will be joining Gloria Bistrița as a free agent, bringing his skills and experience to the squad, having previously worked under Dorinel Munteanu at Oțelul.

As he prepares to sign with the club, Rusevic is valued at 100,000 euros according to Transfermarkt.com, and many fans are hopeful that his addition will bolster the team’s performance as they continue their campaign in Liga 2.
