The much-anticipated Dâmbovița Arena in Târgoviște is on track to be completed by June 26, 2026. This new stadium will be the second in the city, complementing the existing Eugen Popescu Stadium, which has recently undergone a four-year renovation.

Construction on Dâmbovița Arena began in September 2023, and progress is moving at a promising pace. Once completed, the stadium will boast a capacity of 12,000 seats, providing ample space for local fans.

Chindia Târgoviște, the local football club, is eager to make Dâmbovița Arena their home. Although they are currently not competing in the SuperLiga, there is hope for a return by December 2026. Manager Florin Gardoș has expressed optimism that football will be played at the new venue by the end of that year, though he also noted potential delays due to documentation processes could push the opening to early 2027.

Chindia has significant needs, particularly as they navigate challenging licensing conditions. In addition to their men's team, they also support a women's senior team and a second squad.

In a recent development, Chindia officially presented Alexandru Băluță as their new signing. Gardoș emphasized that Băluță is a professional player who has performed impressively, with 47 matches last season for FCSB. The transfer represents a financial commitment for Chindia, as Gardoș confirmed that Băluță will receive the maximum salary the club can offer.

With the excitement of the new stadium and recent player acquisitions, the future looks bright for Târgoviște's football scene.
