Corina Crețu champions regional cooperation at key transport summit in Thessaloniki

Corina Crețu, Romania's consul general in Thessaloniki, expressed her honor in representing Romania at the third meeting of the Black Sea-Egean Corridor Platform (BACP). The event gathered government representatives, European institutions, international financial organizations, infrastructure companies, and private sector stakeholders, all focused on enhancing regional connectivity.

The discussions during the BACP meeting emphasized the advancement of transportation infrastructure and cross-border cooperation along the Black Sea–Egean axis. Crețu highlighted the importance of accelerating cooperation among Greece, Romania, and Bulgaria, noting its critical role in regional stability, economic growth, and energy security in Southeast Europe.

The meeting was presided over by Apostolos Tzitzikostas, the European Commissioner for Transport and Sustainable Tourism, and Christos Dimas, the Greek Minister of Infrastructure and Transport. Crețu took the opportunity to thank the Greek authorities for their organization of the event and commended the Romanian Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure for their participation.

With a background as a former Member of the European Parliament and European Commissioner for Regional Policy from 2014 to 2019, Crețu's insights into constructive dialogue about the future of regional connectivity were well received. The gathering marked a significant step towards fostering partnerships that could drive progress in the region.
