Coca-Cola HBC România sees steady growth in first half of the year
Coca-Cola HBC România, the largest local bottler of soft drinks, has reported a notable increase in sales volumes for the first half of the year, with a growth rate of 1-4% compared to the same period last year. This positive trend reflects a consistent demand for their beverages in the Romanian market.
The sales volume in Romania has shown growth in low single digits, with the carbonated drinks segment experiencing a slight increase. Notably, Coke Zero has emerged as a standout performer, achieving double-digit growth, while Sprite has also seen a rise of over 10% in the same period.
The energy drinks segment has thrived, fueled by strong sales of the brand Monster, which has contributed to significant growth in this category. Additionally, the non-carbonated drinks segment has also recorded low single-digit growth, supported primarily by the water category.
Overall, Coca-Cola HBC has experienced a 7.5% increase in volumes during the first half of this year and has reported organic revenue growth of 9.6%. Zoran Bogdanovic serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Coca-Cola HBC, which operates across 29 countries and bottles and distributes Coca-Cola products in Romania under the license of The Coca-Cola Company.
Coca-Cola HBC is primarily controlled by Kar-Tess Holding, which holds 23% of the shares, while The Coca-Cola Company owns 21%. The remainder of Coca-Cola HBC's shares are free floating, indicating a diverse ownership structure that supports its operations and growth in the beverage market.
