Cluj-Napoca to Welcome a New IKEA Store in 2029
IKEA is set to open a new store in Cluj-Napoca, marking a significant expansion in Romania's retail landscape. This exciting development is part of a broader investment plan that aims to enhance customer access to IKEA products across the country.
The store, which will cover over 17,000 square meters, is expected to open its doors in two to three years, with an estimated launch in the financial year 2029. This location will provide a wide variety of IKEA products, most of which will be available for immediate purchase and pickup.
Customers will have the flexibility to place orders in-store or online for more complex purchases, and they'll also be able to opt for direct home delivery. The new store will feature a Swedish Restaurant and a Swedish Delicatessen, adding to the unique shopping experience.
This new Cluj-Napoca location is part of a three-year investment plan announced by IKEA for the Romanian market, with a total value of approximately 130 million euros. Of this amount, 125 million euros are dedicated to expansion and development projects, while 4.4 million euros will help reduce prices in the financial year 2027.
As part of this investment, IKEA plans to open a total of 10 new customer meeting points, including the store in Cluj-Napoca. Currently, IKEA operates three stores in Romania: two in Bucharest and one in Timișoara, along with six Planning and Ordering Studios and five Pickup Points across various cities, including Brașov, Cluj-Napoca, Constanța, Sibiu, and Bucharest.
