Celebrating Excellence in Romanian Music with the Launch of the Romanian Music Industry Awards

The Romanian music scene is set to shine brighter than ever with the launch of the Romanian Music Industry Awards, aimed at recognizing the incredible talents within the industry. This initiative promises to be a constant and transparent celebration of artists, producers, and organizers who are making significant strides in contemporary music.

Local artists are having a profound impact through innovative streaming, engaging social media presence, and the vibrant festivals that capture the hearts of fans. The awards will serve as a platform for undeniable professional recognition, built on strict principles of transparency and relevance.

One of the standout features of the Romanian Music Industry Awards is the introduction of the Academy ROMINAS, which comprises top experts dedicated to evaluating and celebrating the best in music. This year, the awards will cover a diverse range of categories, from national awards for solo artists and groups to international recognitions for album and single of the year.

Fans will have the power to influence outcomes through a secure online voting system, making them direct decision-makers in the process. The awards will also honor festivals of all sizes, special achievements with a Life Time Achievement Award, and the WOW award for ambitious ideas or campaigns from the previous year.

The Romanian Critics’ Choice Award will add another layer of credibility, validated by critics and music editors. Additionally, the Best New Artist or Group category aims to spotlight remarkable achievements in commercially limited genres.

With a dynamic project calendar set in motion, the Academy will establish its first official nominations and special award winners in October 2026. Public voting will take place in November and December of that year, culminating in a gala event in February-March 2027, where winners will be celebrated for rewriting the history of Romanian music.

Co-financed by AIMR from the collected music stamp tax, the Romanian Music Industry Awards represents a collaborative effort with strategic partnerships involving AROC and UPFR.
