Bogdan Mitrea joins Viitorul Livezile as he approaches retirement

In a notable turn in his career, Bogdan Mitrea has signed with Viitorul Livezile, a team competing in Liga a 4-a. This move comes as he prepares to retire at the end of the 2024-2025 season, marking the conclusion of a significant chapter in Romanian football.

Mitrea's journey has seen him play for various clubs, including Universitatea Cluj, Bihorul Beiuș, Câmpia Turzii, and CSMS Iași, where he made his debut in the top tier of Romanian football. His career took him further afield, with spells at Viitorul Constanța in 2013, Serie B with Ascoli, and stints with teams like FCSB, AEL Limassol, Doxa Katokopias, Spartak Trnava, Sepsi, and Universitatea Craiova.

A highlight of Bogdan Mitrea's career came in 2020 when he debuted for the Romanian national team, scoring in his first match against Belarus, making him the 77th player to achieve this feat. In 2022, he was called up by coach Edi Iordănescu for the Nations League matches, stepping in for the injured Vlad Chiricheș, although he did not play any minutes in those games.
