A new chapter for social mobility: Second edition of 'Mobilitatea contează' grants opens
Fundaţia Dacia pentru România (FDpR) is proud to announce the second edition of its grant program, 'Mobilitatea contează', aimed at enhancing social and physical mobility across the country. With a total budget of 1 million euros, this initiative will finance projects developed by non-profit organizations that seek to eliminate barriers to education, labor markets, and culture.
The program encourages organizations to take action where mobility barriers are most apparent. Mihai Bordeanu, Managing Director of Dacia Brand SEE and Country Head of Romania, emphasized that Dacia was founded on the principle that mobility should be accessible to all. He noted that the first year of the program demonstrated that such investments can lead to real changes in communities.
Adrian Curaj, President of the FDpR Board, reinforced the idea that the second edition is proof that a successful model can be built in collaboration with community organizations. He highlighted the impact of the first year's projects, which improved the lives of thousands of people.
'Mobilitatea contează 2' will run from 2026 to 2027 and includes a new grant fund of 1 million euros. The program has two funding lines: the 'Linia Continuitate' with a budget of 300,000 euros and the 'Linia Apel deschis' with a budget of 700,000 euros. Each grant can reach up to 30,000 euros per project.
To apply, organizations must be registered and active in Romania for at least four years and have implemented a minimum of three measurable impact projects. Their annual budgets must range from 50,000 to 1,000,000 euros. Proposed projects should last 12 months, from October 2026 to September 2027, and benefit at least 20 individuals.
Applications will be accepted until July 10, 2026, with evaluations taking place from July 13 to July 31, 2026. Winning NGOs will be announced on August 5, 2026. The program promises to continue making significant strides in improving mobility for communities throughout Romania.
