Softeh Plus and NextUp unite to enhance healthtech and cloud services in Romania

16 Jun 2026, 15:49

The unification of Softeh Plus and NextUp under a single management structure marks a significant milestone in Romania's tech landscape. This new entity will serve over 30,000 active users daily across various sectors, including health, pharmaceuticals, construction, insurance, manufacturing, and services.

Softeh Plus, established in 1993, has long been a leader in healthtech, with its solutions implemented in eight of Romania's ten largest private hospitals. Meanwhile, NextUp, founded in 1991, provides cloud-based ERP and payroll applications to more than 6,000 small and medium-sized enterprises.

The official announcement took place in Bucharest, attended by economic and diplomatic officials from both Poland and Romania. The presence of these dignitaries underscores the importance of this collaboration.

The newly integrated organization will be led by Roxana Epure as CEO of Symfonia in Romania, focusing on leveraging artificial intelligence to automate compliance requirements in its software platform. With Romanian businesses having to adapt to over 600 major legislative changes in recent years, including the implementation of e-Factura and SAF-T systems, this is a timely development.

Despite Romania's cloud service adoption lagging behind the European average—24.9% of Romanian companies use paid cloud services compared to 52.7% in Europe—this merger positions the new entity to play a crucial role in advancing cloud technology in the region. Poland is increasingly seen as a key partner for Romania, with Polish investments in the local market projected to grow significantly, reaching 1.17 billion euros by 2024.

Together, Romania and Poland are shaping a regional market of nearly 58 million consumers, with Polish companies generating a combined revenue of 14.4 billion euros in Romania in 2023 and supporting over 15,000 jobs. As Poland becomes the fourth-largest supplier of imports to Romania, this collaboration is set to enhance the technological capabilities and economic ties between the two countries.
