Rompetrol leads the way with fuel prices below 9 lei
Rompetrol has made a significant move by reducing the price of gasoline to 8.88 lei per liter and diesel to 8.99 lei per liter, marking the lowest prices in the Romanian market as of Thursday, June 11, 2026.
This latest round of price reductions in the fuel market comes after Petrom and OMV initiated a price drop on Wednesday evening, June 10, 2026, around 8:00 PM. Following their lead, other companies such as Socar, MOL, and Lukoil quickly adjusted their prices.
Rompetrol lowered the price of each liter of gasoline and diesel by 20 bani. This strategic move has placed Rompetrol at the top of the list for the most affordable fuel options available.
On the same day, Petrom was recorded with the highest diesel prices at 9.44 lei per liter. In contrast, Lukoil managed a smaller decrease of 15 bani, bringing their diesel price to 9.29 lei per liter. Meanwhile, OMV and MOL implemented minor reductions of 10 bani on gasoline and 5 bani on diesel.
Notably, MOL has emerged as the champion of gasoline price cuts for the week, with reductions of 0.50 lei per liter compared to Monday's prices. However, Rompetrol and MOL remain the frontrunners in the diesel category, both achieving a cumulative price reduction of 0.35 lei per liter from Monday to Thursday.
Overall, Rompetrol stands out as the most affordable brand across the board, with competitive prices that are sure to benefit consumers as they fill up their tanks.
