11 Jun 2026, 20:21

Romania is emerging as a key player in the regional business services sector, with the potential to strengthen its position as a hub for business services in Europe. This was highlighted at the ABSL Awards Gala 2026, held on June 9, 2026, where the Asociația Business Service Leaders în România (ABSL) shared insights into the industry's growth and challenges.

With approximately 280,000 employees, the business services industry ranks fifth among sectors contributing to Romania's GDP. This illustrates the significant role that this industry plays in the national economy. The year 2026 presents both opportunities and challenges, as companies seek markets that can provide advanced skills, expertise, stability, and the capacity to manage complex operations.

Adrian Baron, the President of ABSL, emphasized the importance of maintaining Romania's competitiveness in the face of these challenges. The country is well-equipped with highly skilled professionals, strong technical and linguistic competencies, and a mature business services ecosystem, making it an attractive destination for outsourcing and IT services.

ABSL Romania aims to continue promoting the industry's contributions to the national economy. The association brings together companies involved in Shared Services Centers, Business Process Outsourcing, Information Technology Outsourcing, and Research & Development, reinforcing Romania's position as a leading European destination for these services.
