Romania sets two new world records in philately
Romania has achieved a remarkable milestone in the world of philately, with two new records officially recognized by Guinness World Records. The first record celebrates the 'Sfinţirea Catedralei Naţionale' stamp issue, which features the longest stamp in the world.
The centerpiece of the 'Sfinţirea Catedralei Naţionale' series is a panoramic stamp measuring an impressive 252 x 36 mm. This extraordinary stamp commemorates the consecration of the largest Orthodox cathedral in the world, showcasing Romania's rich cultural heritage.
In addition to this achievement, the stamp issue 'Federaţia Internaţională de Filatelie - 100 de ani' was also recognized, marking a significant anniversary in the world of philately. This stamp was released on February 26, and alongside it, the iconic Cap de bour stamp has been reimagined, now measuring just 7.5 x 9 mm, making it the smallest stamp in the world.
Both records have been officially certified by Guinness World Records, providing further recognition of Romania's accomplishments in the global philatelic community. Gabriel Bulumac, the general director of Romfilatelia, has expressed pride in these achievements, which highlight the country's dedication to the art and history of stamp collecting.
