Romania climbs to 52nd in FIFA World Ranking

Romania's national football team has made a notable leap, moving up two places to secure the 52nd spot in the latest FIFA World Ranking. This change reflects the team's ongoing efforts and dedication on the international stage.

The FIFA rankings were published on Monday and show Romania with a total of 1,455.89 points. While the team has improved its position, it still trails behind Ukraine, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, and Greece in the European zone, but remains ahead of Bulgaria.

In the latest update, Spain has taken the top position, overtaking Argentina, which now holds second place. France, England, and Brazil round out the top five, while Morocco has achieved its best-ever ranking at sixth.

The previous FIFA ranking was updated on July 20, and the next one is scheduled for October 7, 2026. Historically, Romania's national team reached its highest ranking of third place in September 1997, with an average position of 27 across its history.
