Leroy Merlin România prepares for growth with new investments and store openings
Leroy Merlin România is set to expand its presence across the country with plans for three new store openings in 2026, located in Bistrița, Brăila, and Galați. This follows a strong year in 2025, during which the company achieved a remarkable turnover of 3.7 billion lei, a significant increase from 37.4 million lei in 2010.
The company has also initiated the construction of a new logistics center spanning 48,500 square meters, with completion expected by February 2027. This strategic move aims to enhance operational efficiency and support the growing demand for its products.
In 2025, Leroy Merlin opened three new stores in Mall Moldova Iași, Supernova Lujerului, and Supernova Pantelimon, bringing the total number of units to 25 across 16 cities in Romania. The expansion is supported by a robust investment strategy, with 27.9 million euros allocated for 2025, marking a 50% increase from the previous year.
Despite a dip in net profit to 65.6 million lei in 2025 from 149.1 million lei in 2024, the company remains optimistic about its future. Mathieu Bauduin, the CEO of Leroy Merlin România, envisions the DIY market in Romania growing to between 5 and 6 billion euros, with potential to reach 8 billion euros.
In a significant move for employee engagement, all 3,500 employees in Romania became shareholders of the Adeo group in September 2025 through the ALL ADEO program. This initiative not only fosters a sense of ownership but also aligns the interests of the workforce with the company's growth objectives.
Looking ahead, Leroy Merlin has budgeted nearly 30 million euros for investments in 2026, reinforcing its commitment to expanding its footprint in Romania's dynamic retail landscape.
