Finportal aims for major growth in Romania's insurance brokerage by 2031
Finportal has set ambitious goals for its operations in Romania, aspiring to reach over 3,800 agents by 2031. With a target of capturing 10% of the insurance brokerage market, the company is positioning itself as a significant player in the industry.
The company plans to make strategic acquisitions, including a large insurance broker, to facilitate its growth. Additionally, Finportal intends to develop an IT pool dedicated to brokerage, recognizing Insurtech as its main competitor in this space.
Currently, Safety Broker leads the market with over 10% of insurance brokerage, having recently surpassed 24 Broker, which is undergoing restructuring. Finportal sees opportunities in the mortgage sector as well, aiming to replicate its success in Slovakia, where it generated annual revenues of 75 million euros in 2025.
In Romania, Finportal is targeting annual revenues of at least 17 million euros by 2031. The company has identified six insurance brokers and four credit brokers as potential acquisition targets, which could further enhance its market presence.
Meanwhile, NN continues to dominate several segments of the insurance market, holding approximately 30% of life insurance and being a leader in private pension plans. Recently, NN has also entered the general insurance market, offering a range of products including home and health insurance.
As the insurance landscape evolves, Finportal's strategic initiatives and focus on growth could bring exciting changes to Romania's insurance brokerage sector in the coming years.
