In a unique initiative, children from Romania, Serbia, and Ukraine came together to create and manage their own miniature city at the fortified church in Bărcuț, Brașov County. This innovative camp, named "Orășelul Copiilor," allowed participants aged 8 to 11 to experience the responsibilities of governance in a fun and engaging way.

Organized by the NGO Ifa – Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen from Stuttgart in partnership with the Evangelical Church A.B. in Romania, the camp was conducted in German. The children were not just play-acting; they established real rules, assigned roles, and elected representatives, fostering a sense of community and cooperation.

The miniature city included key institutions such as a city hall, fire department, newspaper editorial office, workshops, and a recycling center. Each child had a job and participated in producing and selling goods, while they even created a newspaper to document their experiences.

The camp received a special visit from Consul Wiebke Oeser, highlighting the significance of this cross-cultural initiative. The embassy expressed gratitude to the educators from Germany and Romania for providing such a unique experience and acknowledged the contributions of the partners involved in making this event possible.
