12 Jun 2026, 11:40

The Bistrița-Năsăud community is invited to explore the beauty of Romania through a captivating photographic exhibition. The Fotogeografica exhibition will open its doors on June 16, showcasing diverse perspectives on the country's natural, cultural, and human heritage.

Taking place at the Complexul Muzeal Bistrița-Năsăud, the event will begin at 17:00 in the Sala „Grigore Bradea”. Visitors will have the opportunity to view the works until July 16. This year’s edition celebrates the 150th anniversary of the Romanian Society of Geography, adding a significant historical context to the exhibition.

Curated by local artist Sever Moldovan, known for his dedication to promoting photographic art, the exhibition brings together works from photographers nationwide. Paul Bordaș, the initiator and organizer of Fotogeografica, will support the opening event, alongside the presence of representatives from the Bistrița-Năsăud County administration.

The exhibition is not merely a photography competition; it aims to serve as a genuine event for education and culture. It is presented in the context of the National Year of „Constantin Brâncuși” and will also feature exhibitions organized by the National Heritage Institute.

Fotogeografica is a project by the Casa de Cultură a Studenților București, supported by the Ministry of Labor, Family, Youth, and Social Cohesion, as well as by the Bistrița-Năsăud County Council and the Complexul Muzeal Bistrița-Năsăud. George Alexandru Gavrilaș, the manager of the museum, will host this enriching cultural event, inviting all to partake in a celebration of Romania's artistic spirit.
